Today we’re joined by Floris GDG, an eCom dropshipper turned brand builder with an exceptional talent for building teams, and scaling stores to $1,000,000 /mo in Europe today we talked about
– How did he start his eCom journey
– How he built a team where he did NOTHING and still scaled
– His lessons from starting his first brand so you can skip the learning curve and get it right the first time
Key Highlights
1. Hire Managers First Or Hire People You Can Turn Into Managers
If you're building a team, you can either hire the managers first and have them build the team, as they see fit
However this can be expensive and if you're starting out, it won't be realistic
Alternatively, you can build a team (for example, media buyers) yourself
The key is to always look for people who have the hunger to become managers later
2. Hire A Head Of Finance
Your ads may be profitable, but after you pay your team, and pay refunds, you may be bleeding money without knowing
Having a finance person with you is key to scale whether you have a brand or you're dropshipping
3. Know what you want when hiring
Floris talked about how before making any hire he creates the 4R document
This includes:
- The Role
- Responsibility
- Requirements
- Results
That way he knows what he wants and the candidates respect him for his clarity
4. Switch From Dropshipping To Branding The Right Way
Running a brand and dropshipping are two completely different business models, so you need to have a new mindset, you need to have cashflow and your finances in order to scale

Floris recommends starting a brand on the side of dropshipping and investing the cashflow into your brand until it's sustainable
